Hi all, I was wondering what tips you have about the autonomo process to become a teacher autonomo for a short period of time. It seems a bit overwhelming. Some requirements seem pretty standard or already answered on the forum (thanks!), but others seem like I’ll be in red-tape limbo for another year. When they ask for these requirements, what are they requesting?:

Can I just provide a university degree? or show that I have been an auxiliar de conversación with the cartas de aprovechamiento and can therefore teach?

What amount do they consider sufficient for a freelance teacher? Is it really 10,000 euros like another post suggested?

This is perhaps the most confusing requirement. Which organization is known for getting these things done fast and correctly?  What exactly do they expect or where should I start?
In my case, I understand that I’m in a time crunch due to card expiration. Anyways, I know these are big questions, so I appreciate any guidance.
Un saludo!

Hi there, sorry for the very late response. Christina and I both worked with UPTA to go through the autonomo process. They really held our hands and told us exactly what was needed for each requirement.  The amount you should have in the bank is usually in the neighborhood of 8000 to 10,000 euros, assuming your business doesn’t have any major startup costs. Depending on the extranjeria they might let you show funds you have in a foreign bank account.  As for the accredidation, usually yes its your apostilled university degree, and they also usually want a copy of your CV. The most important requirement is that you show signed contracts with people who have agreed to hire you once you become autonomo.  The contracts would look something like this: http://spainguru.es/example-of-a-freelance-autonomo-contract-in-spain/
