Question about Non lucrative Spain visa
The consulate requires there to be a spanish address on the EX01 & 790 application forms for the Non lucrative Spain visa. My question is, how do they expect you to have a residence before getting approved to move to a foreign country?
Did you use a random address and change it once you arrived or..?

These are the answers of some Facebook group members.
“We rented an Airbnb and used that address. We told them what it was and it was fine via the Miami consulate”
“I used a friends address for my Non lucrative Spain visa application.”
“Houston consulate requires a year’s lease before you move”
“Will you be staying at a hotel or wherever? Use that as your address, it doesn’t matter how long you will be there. Well, actually it does, you need to land on which province you plan to settle in. Because it matters for which health insurance you decide to go with and which province they will issue a policy for.”
“My attorney said we could use their address but they’re located in Mallorca and we are seeking to reside in Barcelona, where our health insurance is also registered. I figured the address would need to be in Barcelona then, so not sure why my attorney would advise me otherwise.”
“You can use your attorney’s address to process your Non lucrative Spain visa. Once you get here and find a place you can register it at the city hall/province when you apply for your padron. Keep in mind, you need to tell your health insurance company which province you will be living in and you need to remember to have them change it if it ends up being different than what you initially specify on your application. My wife and I applied from Thailand and originally provided a Madrid address, but we ended up settling in Logrono, which is in La Rioja province. I was required to notify the Spanish Embassy in Bangkok of this change prior to our visa getting approved, not sure if that will be a requirement for you or not. To be honest, there was some confusion about this at the Spanish Embassy in Bangkok. I’m sure you’ll be fine, given that you’ve opted to enlist the help of an attorney. I did everything myself and it went very well, even with having to get our marriage cert (Hong Kong) and our FBI criminal cert (US) both apostilled from Thailand.”
“If you’re going through a lawyer, they will use their office address which was the case with me. But if you know someone, you can use their address.”
“it has to be in the area where you wish to live, however. We wanted to live in Malaga province so I wasn’t able to use an address of my friends who live in Cadiz province.”
“I used my Airbnb’s address.”
“I used booking.com and made a reservation for one month. It was accepted. booking.com has some places that you don’t pay for until you get there. We are in the same situation. Ours was sitting for 2 months.”
“Los Angeles just needs the city, they don’t require a specific address. (Personal experience from April/May 2021)”
“The LA Consulate only wanted me to list the general area and accepted Valencia, Spain for the domicilio in the EX-01.
For the modelo 790 i put my US home address. Those were the instructions I saw and they accepted both forms.”
“Depends on the consulate. SF only requires the name of the city. Houston requires a signed year long lease.”
“The SF consulate allowed us just to write in the city we planned to live in.”
“NYC were adamant about needing an address. It’s so strange to me how each one has their own rules.”
