Does anyone know if both husband & wife need to show up when applying & meeting to pick up the non lucrative Spain visa for married couples?

Question about joint application for a non lucrative Spain visa

Does anyone know if, when applying for a non lucrative Spain visa for a married couple, BOTH husband and wife need to show up BOTH to apply and for the meeting to pick up the visa?  Or can one person go and represent both?

“You both must go. Each person must pick up her own passport in person.”
