“I’ve got an appointment next month at BLS Istanbul, Turkey for the Spain Non Lucrative Visa, anyone went through the process can help me with required documents or recommend an agency? I’m lost as requirements are not clear on BLS checklist.”

“I couldn’t find any information how to make the the Hague Apostille for all my documents in Istanbul and the BLS didn’t reply me at all to clarify that.”
“There is a Hague apostille in Türkiye, (expensive) but for any Criminal record or marriage certificate, etc, they need to be done in country of origin.”
“I am a British passport holder but took my Spain Non Lucrative Visa from Istanbul. It’s worth to go to consulate for advise, they been very helpful to me.
Criminal record – you can take from Bakirkoy adliye free of charge in Spanish language already apostilled and notarised.
Health insurance must be from Spain – I used DKV insurance.
Must show economical sustainability- I showed my tapus (property ownership documents).
Heath certificate was most challenging but same time very simple in the end.
If you are nice with consulate they can show you example or address where people getting health certificate ( it is somewhere in Sisli and they will make for you in Spanish. Turkish banks are also good with preparing statements (in some banks you can ask in Spanish but the Istanbul consulate accepts English statements also.”
“You need to make appointment to go inside the consulate. Usually appointments was available on next day but I did in 2021.”

How long did it take for your visa to be approved after submitting your application? Did the consulate ask for any additional documents that weren’t listed in the initial requirements? Did you provide a criminal record from the UK as well, or was the one from Turkey sufficient? Any other tips or advice you’d suggest to make the process smoother?”
“You can do all this by yourself, is not that hard , I didn’t took any lawyer. It took long but only due to I guess after Covid they was overwhelmed, in 2021 everyone waited long. They didn’t asked anything extra, that’s why I advise to go to Istanbul consulate and they will give you the list. I provided criminal record only from Turkey as I had Turkish residency. Advise…. Health Insurance is confusable as you need insurance from Spain but in internet a lot of insurance adverts not suitable for NLV visa. Health certificate I have strangled a lot until consulate showed me example and then it was easy.”
