Do you have a recommendation on what car agency you use to rent a car in Spain for someone who has a license from the US?

Question

Hi US license holders! What car agency you use to rent a car in Spain? If so, which agency did you use? EUROPCAR wouldn’t rent me a vehicle because I didn’t show them an “international license”. I might be mistaken, but I thought just the US a license was enough.

“Must be the Europcar branch you used, as I’ve rented from them numerous times and had no problem without an international license. In addition, I’ve rented from Centauro Car, Goldcar, Enterprise, Hertz, and Thrifty. All with my basic US (Maryland) license.”
