Question

Has anyone used Spotahome for short-term rentals? They take a very large deposit. Any issues with receiving it back, etc.? Thank you.

Spotahome: Experiences with Deposits and Property Rentals in Spain

“Their videos of the property were good but even if you were in Valencia you were not allowed to know the address nor visit the property even from the outside. The main reason I chose other sources was based on an unknown location.

The street could be VERY busy, and the flat could be next door to a loud disco, bar, or school. Those limitations were too important to me. I vote No on Spotahome.”

Conclusion

Based on feedback from Spainguru’s Facebook group members, Spotahome offers professionally done property videos but lacks transparency regarding the exact location before booking, which can be a significant drawback for many renters.

Concerns were raised about not being able to view the property or even know the address beforehand, increasing the risk of ending up in a noisy or unsuitable area.

Regarding deposits, it is important to verify whether the deposit is held by Spotahome or the property owner, and to check third-party review sites for additional insight.
