Spain non lucrative visa in Copenhagen: Firsthand Approval in 3 Days - September 2025

This article is a firsthand experience of a Spainguru Commmunity member who applied for a Spain Non Lucrative visa at Copenhagen Consulate in Denmark.

“Visa approved in 3 days in Denmark. I handed in the Spain Non Lucrative visa application in Copenhagen on the 8th September 2025. Missing the paid 790-052 form. Supplemented the payment receipt on the 16th Sep. The case officer handed in all documents on the 17th Sep. Received the approval email on the 22nd Sep, and went to get the visa sticker on the passport on the 24th Sep.

Documents I prepared:

  • Criminal record, Original Spanish version from the DK government. Apostilled.
  • Medical letter, I prepared the document in Danish, English, and Spanish on the same page, and my doctor signed it. Apostilled.”
  • Bank statement from Nordnet stamped and signed. Only the English version is not apostilled.
  • EX-01 form
  • 790-052 form, I was told I needed to pay this one in Spain, so I asked someone to help. If you do not have the NIF/NIE number, you can use V000000T to create the online form. The bank needs the case ID in case to process the payment. The lady in the bank had an issue processing the V0000000T number, so she used 999999999 to replace the general NIF number.”
  • Passport, only front page
  • I’m Chinese citizen with DK residence permit.
  • Insurance.

Questions for Spainguru’s community members

“Which passport?” – “Chinese passport”

“So much easier for EU citizens than for us from the U.S.” – “But EU citizens don’t need visas, the OP is Chinese.”

“I’m guessing the reason it was so quick is because there must be very few applicants in Denmark. Being an EU country, the natives don’t need visas.” – “yes, that could be one of the reasons, I also have Danish permanent residence, which could help a bit.”

Conclusion

This firsthand case shows a remarkably fast Spain non lucrative visa timeline in Copenhagen: submission on September 8 2025, supplemental 790-052 payment on the 16th, documents forwarded on the 17th, approval on the 22nd, and visa stamping on the 24th. The file leaned on clear, apostilled core documents and a multilingual medical letter, with a stamped bank statement and the EX-01.

Key takeaways: prepare apostilled originals where required, bring a clear bank statement, and plan ahead for the 790-052 payment workflow (including using a placeholder NIF like V000000T on the form and ensuring the bank references the case ID).

Local context matters—lighter applicant volume in Denmark and holding Danish permanent residence may have contributed to speed, but the essentials still apply to any Spain non lucrative visa file.

If you’re applying for the Spain non lucrative visa in Copenhagen, assemble a clean, complete pack, confirm payment mechanics for 790-052, and consider multilingual formatting for medical letters to reduce queries.
