Back near the end of February, we went to the BLS web site and selected our appointment date for late March (3/23). Only Prime Time slots were available for an extra fee. We had to drive from Dallas, so drove down on Sunday and stayed in a hotel which is literally right next to the Beal Bank building that the BLS office resides in (3rd floor, Rm 350).
The morning of our appointment we walked from the hotel over to the Beal Bank building with our application folders (3 min walk). We arrived 15 min early. Inside, there are chairs to sit in while you wait to be called (our appt was at 8:30am but weren’t called over to the window until about 9:00am). The woman at the window asked for our documents.
We had my wife’s documents and mine in separate folders that had document type tabs (Visa App Form (glue passport photo on this form), 790, EX-01, etc.). Note that the couple processed before us did not have their forms in a binder with tabs; BLS had no issue with either delivery package.

They took our documents to the back to review them; that took about 15-20 minutes. No concerns were reported nor questions asked.
We were told it would take 2 to 3 months for a decision. Per how we filled out the BLS communication/shipping form, they will provide updates via SMS texts and ship to our home address (if we aren’t there to sign for the passports, we provided a UPS store location nearby to route the passports to for pick-up).
