Any tips about getting appointments at the Spanish Los Angeles Consulate? Do each family member need a separate appointment?

Last Updated on March 18, 2026 by Bruno Bianchi

Question

My husband, two kids, and I are trying to apply for the NLV at the Los Angeles Consulate. We’ve been trying to get appointments for a while now. We just saw available appointments just now. I tried to snag one, but by the time the email with the confirmation code came through, someone else had snagged it. Now there are no longer appointments available. Are there any solutions to this problem?
Also, I’ve read we might need one appointment for each of us. Is that true? Even if my husband is the principal applicant and we are his dependents?

“I’m applying for my visa on Weds at the LA Consulate. I’ve been able to obtain several appointments and reschedule due to my paperwork not being completed. A tip I learned from someone else that has gone through the process is obtain an appointment for another service so you are able to create your account.login/password Once an account is set up you have an easier chance of snagging appointments. I had luck with around 5 -6 on Monday/Tuesdays. Good luck!”

In conclusion, while getting NLV appointments at the Los Angeles Consulate can be a frustrating and time-consuming process, there are solutions available. Spainguru Facebook group members suggest checking at specific times, using companies that procure appointments for a fee, and obtaining appointments for other services to create a login account for easier access. It’s also important to note that each family member may need a separate appointment, even if they are dependents. With persistence and patience, it is possible to secure the necessary appointments and move forward with the NLV application process.
