How much does it cost to apply for a digital nomad visa Spain on your own?

Last Updated on March 18, 2026 by Bruno Bianchi

Question about the digital nomad visa Spain

I’ve had an appointment with an immigration lawyer about gaining my digital nomad visa Spain and moving from England to Spain around September time, they have said they can apply for my visa for me but have said this will cost 1844€ which seems a lot – has anyone applied on their own and saved money? If so can anyone help?

These are the answers of some Facebook group members:

”I didn’t apply on my own but I got from around 700-800€, so there are some options around that can save you some money if you decide to not apply by yourself”

”There are some posts in the group from people who applied on their own if you search. I haven’t applied yet but I was quoted more than you and I think that while a lawyer can help, the visa is so new they don’t know that much about it either. People with lawyers have been denied and approved and so have people who filed on their own”

“I am working with a lawyer and paid about 570 euros total – without translations. I haven’t submitted it yet but will next month, I can share how that goes if you’re interested”

”I found another one for 1600€. I guess as the visa it’s new and there is no clear information people take advantage of the situation”

”Price ranges can vary depending on the services included. Some lawyers can charge 700 for just sending your application. Others can ask for 2000 and get you through this process with additional help registering you as autónomo, advice on banks, digital certificates and so on. So it is all relative. what services are included in your case? Attending other comments, for those who are practising law, especially in the immigration area, this visa is no longer “new”, so applying with a qualified and experienced lawyer you are saving you time and some nerves.”

In conclusion, according to Spainguru Facebook group members, If you’re on a tight budget, you may be able to save money by applying for the digital nomad visa Spain on your own. However, it’s important to be aware that the visa process can be complex, and there’s always the risk of making a mistake that could delay or even deny your application. If you’re not comfortable applying on your own, it may be worth the extra cost to hire a lawyer to help you.
