Question
Has anyone managed to exchange their UK driving licence for a Spanish one recently?? We have all the required documents but when we attended our appointment at the Traffico Office in Elche yesterday with our Gestor, they turned us away saying they are not accepting any more applications

“Did you pre-register last year?If you didn’t before January 1st 2021, you’re out of luck. There’s no more exchanges so you’ll need to do a Spanish driving test”
“The cut off date to register was 30 Dec 2020. If you did not you cannot exchange your licence. If you did, you need an appointment at the same centre you registered with and exchange it before 31 December. After that, failing a further extension (personally think it’s likely) or an agreement twixt UK/Spain, your UK licence ceases to be valid here so will entail you taking the Spanish driving test. Sorry but your gestor should have known this!”
