“I don’t see doing that a lot here. However you can hire someone to do it. My advice is do not get anyone that will be recommended by the real estate company, notary or lawyer you use. The reason is because they will cover any situation in the property, just to push the purchase and get the commission. So only trust small percentage of what they say. Here there lot scammers.”

“Inspections are not a very common practice in Spain. Maybe people take Real Estate or owners word. I personally recommend anyone purchasing a property to have one done. I have seen posts of people who have found issues after a purchase or a remodel that they have had done but sadly with a inexperienced or crooked contractor.

I have a lot of experience in property management, remodeling and inspection. I always go through a purchase or remodel in the process to make sure things are done correctly.

I would also reach out to my brother who was a contractor and county building inspector who has done thousands of repairs and inspections over the years to get his thoughts on something. I will take photos and videos, I then send them to him for his review to make sure I didn’t miss something. It is rare but I do miss items.

I had an inspection team that they would start at each end of a property and they would review each other to make sure everything was right. I rather spend a few dollars to find nothing wrong or to find a problem that I can negotiate on the property price.”

We were fine with whatever else we would discover. Either be fine with what you discover or hire an inspector and dig deep to your liking.”
