Hi! I’m Christina Samson, originally from California, and I’ve been living in Madrid since 2010 — I moved here solo with nothing more than a student visa, a sense of adventure, and a lot of determination.
Over the years, I’ve achieved:
- Transitioned from student to self-employed resident and applied for Spanish citizenship.
- Founded Madrid’s largest English-speaking expat online group with over 25k members.
- Co-founded Spainguru.
- Founded the NGO Madrid For Refugees.
- Worked as a Communications Specialist at the United Nations.
- Purchased property, co-owned a restaurant, and built a life from the ground up.
- Traveled to over 40 countries, giving me a deep understanding of cross-cultural adaptation and global living.
