Question
Has anyone here gotten home internet and mobile service without having a Spanish bank account? I’ve looked a few and they all want a Spanish bank account and don’t plan to get one. We’ll be in Barcelona.

These are the answers of some Facebook group members:
“You will, in all likelihood, need one. While for mobile phone service you can go prepaid, for home Internet you will find it very difficult to contract service without a Spanish account.
I tried: before moving to Spain I had a Polish euro-denominated bank account that I could’ve used for all my payments. It didn’t work with insurance as they required a Spanish account, so I ultimately got one, and this proved to be the case with everything else that requires recurring transactions (so utilities, the mobile phone bill, etc.). I strongly recommend you get a Spanish bank account.”
“I have a German account and they acted like I was an alien wanting to use my German account. Technically, they must accept any EU IBAN and it is illegal to discriminate, but they absolutely do anyway.”
“We have N26 and no Spanish bank account and haven’t had any problems. But we are in Granada.”
