Non lucrative Spain visa application: Can I use an address that does not match my financial records?

Question

Address change question. We are applying for our our non lucrative Spain visa soon. We will be selling our house in the meantime. There are friends’ addresses we can use, but has anyone run into problems applying with an address that doesn’t match all the financial records, etc?

Answers

These are the answers of some Facebook group members:

“I applied, used my home address on everything BUT on the Express Mail envelope I included for them to send me my visas I put my in-laws’ address since we sold our house.”

“No problem at all. I don’t think they care where the visa is being mailed. Moving from one place to another is perfectly normal (even though some people wouldn’t agree.)”

“You’ll need a picture ID with your address in it to prove you’re applying at the right consulate.” – Check our article Which Spanish consulate should I go to if I live in the US and I would like to apply for an non lucrative Spain visa or Golden Visa?

“No problem, we used a family member’s address. Good luck”

“We sold our house during the non lucrative Spain visa process (in October 2022). We had our sold house on our bank statements and our drivers license, our rental house on our application and our friends house (more reliable mail) on our return envelope. No issues whatsoever.”

“We used lawyers address in first instance then changed to our permanent address.”

In conclusion, according to Spainguru Facebook group members, it seems that using an address that doesn’t match all the financial records or documents for your non lucrative Spain visa application is generally not a significant issue. Many members shared their experiences of using alternative addresses, including those of friends or family, when applying for the visa, with no reported complications.
