Can I leave Spain after submitting my application for a Spanish DNV and return to my home country while waiting for the permit?

Question

Technically I can go to Spain, get a stamp to my passport and make the application and go back to my country and wait for my Spanish DNV, right? If I do that, will it be a problem in the future? I mean, when I go to the police station to get a TIE will they ask me why I didn’t stay in Spain? I’m asking this bc my company does not want me to stay in Spain when I’m waiting the DNV and they register me to the Spanish payroll.

Answers

These are the answers of some Facebook group members:

”That’s absolutely correct. What makes you doubt it”

”Yes you can I applied in Barcelona two weeks ago and came back to UK 3 days later”

”Yes, you can do this, you would be doing nothing wrong. You don’t need to proof you were in Spain for getting your TIE. Just for the application”

So in conclusion, according to Spainguru Facebook group members, you can technically travel to Spain, get a stamp on your passport for the application, and return to your country to wait for the outcome. They believe it should not cause any future issues when obtaining a TIE. However, it’s important to verify this information with official sources and seek professional advice to ensure compliance with immigration regulations.
