Start the Moving to Spain Hub →“I have installed Uber, Cabify, Bolt, and FreeNow. All ready with accepted debit cards, ready to be used. I always check the price in all four apps and take the cheapest.
There are huge differences, sometimes 5 euros versus 15 euros or so for the same trip. It’s worth comparing. Plus, they run discount campaigns all the time, sometimes -30%. So really, any of those apps could be the cheapest at any moment.
I have just compared a trip from my place to the airport: Uber is 18 euros, Cabify is 24 euros, and Bolt is 21 euros.
But if the trip is important, for example, if you are taking a flight and can’t miss it, it is important to understand which app is the most reliable in that specific city. Reliability and service should take priority over price.”

“Cabify.”
“You can use Google Maps for directions with public transportation in your language.”
“FreeNow.”
“FreeNow. But really, taxis are everywhere and generally easy to find on the street.”
“If someone is not fluent in Spanish and/or wants to know how much the fare will be, an app is the best option.”
“There are lots of different apps and different taxi companies throughout Spain. Hard to say if one is cheaper than the other or even the same.”
“Yeah, unless you need one right away! Then I inevitably end up waiting several minutes.”
“Madrid has an excellent transportation system. You don’t need a taxi.”
“It’s often ranked one of the easiest systems to use in the world. I figured it out fast when I was a kid. There is no metro stop in Plaza Mayor, but you can take the train to Sol and walk. If you are carrying lots of luggage, then a taxi might get you a little closer, but since many of those streets are pedestrian-only, you will still need to walk.”
“Taxi or Uber, they are everywhere.”
“Uber, Cabify, Bolt. FreeNow is all cabs.”
“Used Uber and Cabify.”
“PideTaxi.”
