The IPREM (Indicador Público de Renta de Efectos Múltiples) is an official index set each year by Spain’s Budget Law. It’s widely used as a reference value in many administrative and legal processes across the country.
In the context of immigration, the IPREM is especially relevant. Authorities rely on it to assess an applicant’s financial capacity in procedures such as family reunification, non-lucrative visa applications or renewals, long-term residence permits, and other residency-related authorizations.
Here is the official IPREM for 2025, along with historical values:
- 2025 IPREM Monthly: 600.00 Euros
- 2025 IPREM Yearly (12 payments): 7,200.00 Euros
- 2025 IPREM Yearly (14 payments): 8,400 Euros

While the IPREM has remained unchanged since 2023, it continues to be the benchmark for determining economic solvency in various administrative procedures in Spain.
What if IPREM Rises in 2026?
Although the IPREM has been frozen at 600 euros/month since 2023, there is speculation that it may increase in 2026—possibly (ar at the very least) to 650 euros/month. If that happens, it would directly impact Non-Lucrative Visa (NLV) applicants and those renewing their permits, as the financial requirements are calculated using this index.
Under the current rule, NLV applicants must demonstrate 400% of the IPREM annually for the main applicant, and 100% of the IPREM for each dependent.
Estimated Financial Requirements if IPREM Becomes 650€ in 2026:
- Main applicant:
650 € x 12 months x 4 = 31,200 € annually - Each dependent:
650 € x 12 months = 7,800 € annually
So, for a couple, the total amount to demonstrate would be 39,000 €, and for a family of four, it would rise to 54,600 €.
This increase would raise the bar for prospective NLV applicants, particularly families, retirees on fixed incomes, or those relying on savings. If you’re considering applying or renewing in 2026, it may be wise to apply earlier or plan finances accordingly, in case the IPREM does rise.
