“Our Spanish health insurance Adeslas just went up about 10% (February 2023).”

“Ask for a discount. You won’t get one unless you ask. Our first renewal they gave us one month free. Our second renewal they gave us two months free. This year they are giving us 25% discount. In order to get it we have to pay the full year at once but it’s well worth it! Say that you have looked elsewhere and found better prices and are now thinking of cancelling. The price will drop quickly”

“Mine dropped a couple bucks with Adeslas”

“I’ve renewed mine twice and it has not increased at all”

“Ours has gone down in price ever year. We ask our agent for a discount and he gets us one. We have to pay the entire year up front but it’s worth the great deals”

“You might get a discount if you are no longer in a discount promotion year and if the premium to use of policy ratio is good. If you have no serious medical issues then changing policy and taking a promotional new biz discount can save you money and upgrade to a better insurer. Problem is when you have the best insurers then changing can reduce the cover.”

“All Spanish health insurance have increased premiums by the 7% Spanish inflation rate. Then add on the small age increase and its between 10% and 11% increase. So time to get your moneys worth and book in your Cardiology checks, gynaecology checks, blood analysis, and hopefully your policy also offers the abdominal ultrasound a great check to have annually scan checks for kidney, bowels, liver, prostrate, and pelvic regions.”

In conclusion, according to Spainguru’s Facebook group members, when renewing a Spanish health insurance, several members have experienced varied changes in premiums. Some observed about a 10% increase, while others managed to secure discounts by negotiating or paying the full year upfront. Nonetheless, it’s essential to be proactive in seeking potential discounts or considering other providers based on one’s medical needs and financial preferences. It’s also worth noting that Spanish health insurance premiums have been impacted by the 7% Spanish inflation rate in 2023.
