How can I obtain baby vaccinations in Spain? My private health insurance (Adeslas) doesn’t cover them

Last Updated on March 18, 2026 by Bruno Bianchi

Question

I have a one-year-old and we have Adeslas. They mentioned they do not include baby vaccinations in Spain. How do I go about that, Can we try the public system for vaccines or we buy it on our own and have a nurse inject for us? Has anyone with babies had experience with this?

Answers

These are the answers of some Facebook group members:

”Its Best to use the public system as the baby will have a cartilage of dates of future vaccines and they will send you reminders”

”Speak with your local Centro de Salud, your baby will need to be registered on the public system as having the mandatory vaccines (for Spain)”

”Just tell them exactly that, that you want to get the vaccines done and ask what the procedure is. They will be able to provide you with more information on the matter

Conclusion

In conclusion, according to Spainguru Facebook group members, for a one-year-old without vaccine coverage from a private health insurance in Spain, it’s best to use the public healthcare system. Register your child there for mandatory vaccines in Spain and receive timely reminders for vaccinations. Contact your local Centro de Salud for the procedure and details.
