I’m told I have to get my documents apostilled. Have no idea what this means, where I need to go, etc. ….. HELP

“It is a short legalization of an official paper issued by your country.”

“And don’t get scammed by companies claiming to offer the service. All they do is send the documents to the same place you can yourself and charge you a fee.”

“Hi it means the government has to certify them as official. I’m an Aussie I had to send mine to the embassy in Madrid and they gave it an official looking stamp/seal thing. You need to get that done before sworn translation if the documents need translating as well. So if you’re in Spain already check out your country’s embassy/consulate – if you’re in your home country check out the department of foreign affairs offices or similar.”

It confirms that the notary public or public official is, in fact, a genuine notary public or public official authorised by the UK Government.”
