What is the process for renting a place through Idealista?

Last Updated on March 18, 2026 by Bruno Bianchi

Question

What is the process for renting a place through Idealista? I’ve been sending messages to Idealista for apartment rentals but I never get a response to my inquiries, they just send more ads.

I got confirmation that my message was sent. Can anyone tell me what I may be doing wrong trying to find a rental on this site? I really need to rent a place for 1 year and it needs to be soon. I’m here from the US attending a language course. Appreciate any advice anyone can give.

These are the answers of some Facebook group members:

“They don’t respond to emails. My suggestion would be to go to the agency in person. In general, agencies put forth no effort whatsoever. If you tell them that you want to rent a specific apartment from them, they might consider showing it to you if it fits into their schedule. Good luck!”

“Idealista makes money by introducing buyers to agents, the agents don’t want to pay so they are happy to wait for you to contact them directly”

“Go in person or give them a phone call. Same experience here. If you give them a phone call it will most likely end up in the call center so try to find a direct line. Sometimes it shows up in the listing. Finally, Spanish often works better.”

“Hi, you should get the number of the estate agent off the advert and call them directly. That is what we did.”

“You must phone them directly. In the dozens of times I messaged on idealista, I only got one answer. Either call, or text on WhatsApp, or go to the estate agent office.”
