Question regarding drivers license in Spain- am I correct in understanding we cannot transfer our Canadian license and would need to get our license as first time drivers in Spain?

“Lots of EU countries have exchange agreements with Canada. Most likely Canada just hasn’t tried to negotiate an agreement with Spain.”
“Spain tried many years ago, but Quebec wanted a separate agreement, this put Spain in a difficult situation because then Catalonia would also ask for a separate agreement, hence the reason the negotiations were cancelled.”
“It doesn´t have to be a money grab. You can prepare the theoretical on your own & take the test. It´s useful to take a few road lessons to learn the test route.”
