What is the best way to bring money to Spain from the USA? We will be coming to Spain to open a bank account but will not return to the USA after.

First answer: “Use WISE we purchased our house using their transfer system and saved a fortune on exchange rates plus bank charges. Best to contact them online and discuss with them.”
Second answer: “Wise“
Third answer: “I’ve found Wise to be pretty good for normal transfers. Had a frustrating issue with larger amount for a purchase, but I still use them. My bank in Spain allows accounts with passport only. If you are in Barcelona area I’m happy to connect via DM”
Fourth answer: “You should be able to open a non-resident account with your passport. But the maximum cash deposit is €2,500.”
Fifth answer: “Spain is a modern grown-up country. If you can prove its providence, it can happen electronically. If you can’t prove where it came from, you have a problem.”

Seventh anser: “Use Wise, you can set up a dollar account then transfer from U.S. bank to Wise, then to any other currency you may need later.”
Eighth answer: “You can take out of the USA as much cash as you want BUT if it is more than $10,000, you will need to report it to CBP. plus also need to prove to the Spanish bank where the money came from ie sale of a property. You must prove the money is Kosher and not illegally obtained or part of money laundering.”
