How can I obtain my Spanish grandfather’s birth certificate when my family is not providing the correct birth date?

How can I get a copy of my Spanish grandfather’s birth certificate? I have his info from my moms birth certificate except the accurate birth date.

I’m American, parents from Cuba and grandparents from Spain. I understand that we now can apply for dual citizenship of descent. My family from Cuba that have acquired the dual citizenship is giving me the run around on my grandfathers real birth date.

“If you have a spanish parent or grandparent, you can apply under the new ley de memoria democratica. They do not have to be exiles. There has been a lot of misunderstanding with this new law. All direct descendants can apply.

This company helped me find my father and grandmother’s birth certificates. If you are uncertain of all the information you need to find the birth certificates, they have a special search that can find them. If you know full names and birth dates, it should be enough.

Now as for the consulate, this explains what you need: NOTA INFORMATIVA III 22 dic 2022.pdf

You need:

– Anexo 1 form – ignore everything about the exile.

– Declaratoria de Datos form

– Your birth certificate with a Spanish translation.

– Your birth certificate apostille and a translation of the apostille

– Your mother or fathers birth certificate (if they were born outside Spain, this must be translated and apostilled as well)

– Grandmother or grandfathers Spanish birth certificate (if applying through them)

– Your state ID and passport (or other form of identification)

I literally applied at the Houston consulate this morning so I can confirm that everything I am saying is correct. I will put in the comments the official notes about Anexo 1 from the BOE.”
