Question
I applied for the Spain Digital Nomad Visa almost 2 months ago, and I haven’t heard anything back. Is this normal?

“There were a number of people who reported issues/delays who applied at the end of November 2024.”
“You should request approval based on administrative silence.”
“You should be granted it automatically after 30 working days; however I also believe the offices were closed for 15 days in December and the holidays in January… so… might have to figure out how many working days it’s actually been and go from there.”

Applied on August 2023, wanted more and more things, missed one deadline by a few days due to further acro check being required and UK taking up to 35 days at the time. Appealed as they wanted a new application. This was then around October 31st. They should have responded by 21st January 2024, so far heard nothing!”
“We are in the same boat. Applied the last week of November, and haven’t heard back yet. I was confirming that some people from that week are now getting responses, so we have to wait. Stay strong!”
“It is already considered approved due to administrative silence. You have to submit a statement requesting the resolution letter.”
“I applied for silencio administrativo and got my resolution approved letter already!”
Conclusion
Delays in receiving a response after applying for the Spain Digital Nomad Visa can vary, especially around holiday periods when administrative offices may have reduced working hours.
If applicants do not receive feedback within the expected timeframe, it is advisable to explore the option of requesting approval through ‘silencio administrativo,’ a legal provision where silence from the administration can be interpreted as approval.
Consultation with an immigration attorney can also help navigate the complexities of such situations effectively.
