Spain Digital Nomad Visa: Do I Need an Accommodation to apply?

Question

Spain Digital Nomad Visa question: Do I need to show proof of accommodation? How do I do this if I have not been accepted for the visa and to avoid putting down a deposit for a place that may not be legal to live in?

Answers

These are the answers of Spainguru’s Spain Digital Nomad Visa group members:

“It is not necessary to have an accommodation to make the application. Depending on the province in which you will be residing, it may be necessary to have housing to obtain the residency card (TIE) once you have obtained a favorable resolution on your DNV application.”

“No, no fixed or permanent address is needed.”

Spain Digital Nomad Visa: Do I Need an Accommodation to apply?

“We are travelling down with a touring caravan in November and intend to start our application in Dec to avoid paying capital gains tax on the sale of our UK property.
Can we use a touring cararan park address on our application? I have been told ‘No’ before.” – “Yes. Once it is a complete address, for the forms and when you get approved and to the TIE card stage your might need to show the address on a document/reservation. We have processed many applications with our office address or hotel booking or airbnb, all approved without problems.”

Conclusion

The response clearly indicates that proof of accommodation is not required at the initial stage of applying for the Spain Digital Nomad Visa.

However, it becomes pertinent post-approval when applying for the residency card (TIE), with requirements potentially varying by province.

This distinction is crucial for applicants to understand to manage their logistics and financial commitments effectively without risking illegal housing arrangements or unnecessary deposits.
