Question
“Can anyone help me with the Spain Digital Nomad Visa. I do OnlyFans and have done since 2019. I earn way over the threshold but obviously I don’t have a degree in it and wouldn’t be able to get recommendation letters etc as I’m essentially a content creator.
I can prove my income it’s just the 3 years experience or degree part that I will struggle with. Also will they look on my job as bad and decline me?”
Answers
These are the answers of Spainguru’s Spain Digital Nomad Visa group members:
“You could set up a company and run your income through that. Contract for you with the company. Takes time to prep, but doable!”
“I would imagine you’ll need to speak with an immigration attorney. It would be good to know exactly what you’ll need in order to be approved rather than other people speculating for/telling you.”
“I doubt you would be eligible. You would need an actual employment contract. Invoices degree or proof of 3 years experience. So might be more challenging. If I were u, I’ll book a consult with an attorney on this.
At first, it looks like it’s impossible.. but I remember I read in this group a content creator that said they got approved. Or maybe they were asking the same question that you did. Can’t recall.
Book a consult to see if there is a way around. But from the look of it, you might not be eligible.”
“When we consulted with a few specialists, before we could get a word out they said ‘no influencers, no YouTubers, no instagrammers, no unstable income, only contracts from companies with good tax standing.
Going to have to get creative with your job description. At the worst you can do Schengen shuffle or whatever your passport allows. Might make for good extra content.”
“You need to be able to show your client gives you a contract allowing you to work in Spain, so I know others who produce content on YouTube have struggled as YouTube won’t write the letters giving permission to work in Spain.”
“Here you can find recommended immigration lawyers, with a successful track record of Spanish Digital Nomad Visa (DNV) applications and approvals. You can request online consultations here: SpainGuru – Consultations Immigration Tax.
If you prefer the DIY route, you will still need services like apostilles and sworn translations, and potentially (depending on your situation), a private health insurance. Here you can find recommended professionals: Sworn translators, Apostille services, Health insurance. I hope this helps!”
Conclusion
For digital nomads working as content creators on platforms like OnlyFans, applying for the Spain Digital Nomad Visa involves unique challenges.
While proving income and operational experience might be straightforward, satisfying the formal requirements like contracts and company backing could necessitate creative solutions.
Consulting with immigration specialists who understand the digital landscape and exploring company setup options are viable pathways to enhancing eligibility.
