Question about Spanish residency application
Does anyone know if when applying for Spanish Digital Nomad Visa from England to Spain I’ll need – a bilateral social security certificate between Spain and the UK?
(A certificate from the NHS for transnational postings).’ As I’ve spoken to my employer and he says this is for when companies actively relocate employees but this isn’t the case in my situation as I’ve chosen to relocate not the company. But the immigration lawyer has asked for this in the document list for dnv so I’m not sure what to do. So what are your thoughts on it?

These are the answers of some Facebook group members:
”Your employer needs to apply for the A1 for you as part of the DNV. It’s your step one really. Go back to them and explain that ad the DNV is quite new, they perhaps aren’t aware of the requirements fully but this is 100% part of it”
”Yes you need an A1”
”You need it. The employer needs to fill out CA3821 on HMRC website with their business Gateway Account. You need to fill out CA3822 to apply for the A1 Certificate, which is what the Consulate wants to see. Ojo! It takes 14 weeks to arrive”
In conclusion, according to Spainguru Facebook group members, you do need an A1 Certificate for your DNV application from England to Spain. The A1 Certificate demonstrates that you’ll be covered by the UK’s social security system while working in Spain. Your employer should apply for this certificate on your behalf, and it could take around 14 weeks to process. It’s recommended to get this certificate to ensure a smooth DNV process.
