These are the answers of some Facebook group members:
“It just recently happened to me, I had to extend for a week until I tested negative. Test has to be no more than 24 hours done before traveling. I had to pay out of pocket for hotel, food, etc. best of luck.
Keep all receipts just in case. Airline should provide you with a waiver once you’ve tested negative”
“Are you showing symptoms??? The recommended time is 5 days but really it’s until you test negative. Obviously only the airlines can resolve your flight issues. And pick a hotel and hang out. Good luck!”
“Contact the airlines to find out what their policy is for testing positive. Contact local health services to find out current guidelines for testing positive quarantine. Usually, wear a mask, self-isolate, only go to essential services, pharmacy, doctor, store for food.”
“Your flights should be changeable, call the airline. They won’t want you flying. Did you get travel insurance? If so your hotel should be covered if not suggest an Airbnb something you can chill out in for at least 4-5 days. And retest.”
“After the 7 days you have to stay in Spain and do an antigen again a day before the departure to the US, if after those 7 days you still test positive, your doctor back in the US can issue a letter stating you have been isolated 7 days after testing positive, with that letter you can fly back to the US. Also you can take ” hygienic walks for your mental health, you don’t have to be locked in your room all the time”
