Question about the non lucrative Spain visa apostille in Canada

My Gestor has told me we have to get our non lucrative Spain visa documents that require an apostille apostilled in our home country.
Where did everyone who has been through the process get theirs’ done? Do Spanish Consulates offer this service or do we have to find a private company?
We live in NS and are applying through the Montreal Spanish Consulate.
