These are the answers of some Facebook group members:

”There’s no govt link saying you can use an Airbnb as an address. It depends on the consulate and the Airbnb owner as to whether they will let you use their address for your Padron”

”I used a (3 month) Airbnb for padrón in Tenerife. But…the Airbnb receipt was not enough. I needed a lease/contract and a receipt of 1st month’s payment. The Airbnb owner provided me with both. I arranged with them prior to arrival. Chicago consulate requires a lease for Non lucrative Visa Spain application”

”It depends on the consulate where you’re applying. Some require a six-month or one-year lease. Others only require the name of the city you’re moving to”

”From where I am applying, they say proof accommodation. They didn’t mention any other details. I guess I have to ask the embassy”

”This conversation is so interesting as it so clearly demonstrates the sometimes quite extreme differences from consulate to consulate. In the UK, it is perfectly normal to provide a Spanish address, purely for info. The address does not need to be a property owned by you. It does not even have to be an address that you have any formal lease with – it can be the address of a friend or family member where you are staying temporarily while you look at your location options. This is normal and perfectly reasonable. Many of us have also chosen to use an agency or lawyer to help guide us through the process, and this can be very helpful as a good agency will develop a relationship with the consulates and they will establish an understanding of what is satisfactory for each element of the requirements”

”For the DC Consulate, we just had to provide an address. No proof is required. However, to not pay import duty on our belongings (arriving via Valencia in October), we have to have a Padron. Happily, our Airbnb hostess in Alicante said that we can use the address for our Padron”

”I live in Bilbao now; I’ve been here about 4 months.
For the LA consulate, I only put “Bilbao” as the address and that was fine. Other consulates can require a lease”

In conclusion, according to Spainguru Facebook group members, the acceptability of using an Airbnb booking or rental address for your Non lucrative Visa Spain application varies by consulate. Requirements range from a simple city name to a formal lease agreement and payment proof. It’s essential to check your consulate’s specific requirements and coordinate with your Airbnb host accordingly. Consulting local agencies or experienced applicants can help you navigate consulate-specific practices effectively.
