Spain Non Lucrative Visa Miami: Can I mail my documents? – June 2024

Question

“Miami consulate—getting ready to overnight my docs to them. My background check is in my current name, but my docs and passport in my maiden name. Will this be a problem?

Does the warranty deed of my house have to be translated and apostille? Can someone confirm we don’t need to apostille the translations? For things like my marriage certificate and my daughter’s birth certs?

“Better not rush preparing the documents. I was in a hurry and gave them the wrong criminal record for myself. Ended up spending more money and wasted extra month.”

“Just email the Miami consulate with specific questions. They will get back to you within a day!”

“Who told you that you could mail them to BLS Miami? Since March 2024, you will need to make an appointment.”

“My understanding is that you have to go in person to drop off the application. I have an appointment in two weeks to drop it off and everyone in the application must be present.

The apostille is required for birth certificates, marriage license, and background checks. Then, they need to be translated. I’m not sure about the other questions.”

“You need to make an appointment with BLS Spain visa in your city. The consulate does not accept overnight packages any longer. In this appointment, you will present all your documentation plus the required fee.

I’m not sure why you are including the deed of your home but the FBI background check, marriage certificates, Birth Certificates, and any proof of income exp: SSI must be translated and requires apostilles. You must have already paid private healthcare insurance.

Also, remember your medical certificate, that must also be included. One thing that we did not have was 12 months of Bank statements. If you do not have any proof of income, you will need your tax returns. If you have everything at your appointment, it will be a quick process.

Mine took only 12 days. Remember, they will keep your passport and return it to with the visa attached. Good luck. What part of Spain are you headed to…….”

“Answering your last question. You need to apostille documents itself not the translations. As long as you did it you are good. Marriage and birth certificates we did with Florida state department because our daughter was born there and we got married there too. Very easy.”

Conclusion

For applicants of the Spain Non Lucrative Visa in Miami, it’s essential to prepare documents thoroughly and verify requirements with the consulate to avoid delays. Key documents like marriage and birth certificates require an apostille and translation, but not the translations themselves.

It’s crucial to make an appointment for submission, as the Miami consulate no longer accepts mail-in applications. Proper preparation and understanding the specific requirements can significantly streamline the application process.
