Question

I am about to apply for an Spain Non Lucrative Visa at the BLS office in Istanbul. I am British, but I have lived in Turkey for over 5 years. A couple of questions:

  1. What is the document that is called Certificate of Residence?
  2. Can I use Turkish notary sworn translators, or do I have to find a translator that is recognised and registered in Spain?
  3. I should be getting a stamped and signed bank statement from my UK bank to prove my funding. Do I need to translate it?

“I am Turkish and got my Spain Non Lucrative Visa five years ago from Turkey. If things have not changed, the Certificate of Residence is ‘ikametgah belgesi.’ It can be obtained from e-Devlet online.

If you don’t have e-Devlet login, you can obtain it directly from Nüfus Müdürlüğü in your city. It proves your current address and is similar to the padrón you will need to get in Spain for your TIE.”
