Question
We are just starting the process of a golden visa Spain. We have our two sons currently 19 & 21 that we want to include in our process. Can they fall under our €500K investment or can they fall under an additional one together since they are siblings?
Answers
These are the answers of Spainguru’s Facebook group members:
“We have kids the same age and just did the same. As long as you are subsidizing their lives to some extent, then they are included under your investment. They don’t need to be classified as dependents for tax purposes afaik.”
“Yes, I think the concern is how long they will remain in a dependent state. We certainly don’t want to stifle them. If it takes 10 years to get citizenship, they would certainly have a “life” by then.”
“If they are classified as dependents, then they are included.”
“If under 21 years and financially dependent and living with you and you can show that with documentation. They can apply as family members to the main applicant. You do not need more than 500000€ investment for any number of family members, however you must learn how adult children can be included in the Golden Visa Spain application under the same €500K investment, based on dependency and financial support.”
“Yes, if they are dependent on you and don’t have their own family units. You’ll need to have sufficient economic means to cover for them. Good luck with your procedure!”
“Yeah, if they are child-free, dependent on you, and you have an income of four times IPREM and one times IPREM for each additional applicant, they can join you on the same visa with the same freedoms and benefits.”
Conclusion
The consensus among Facebook group members is that adult children, specifically those under 21 and financially dependent on their parents, can be included under the same €500K investment for the Golden Visa Spain.
This inclusion depends on proving their dependency and ensuring the parents have sufficient economic means to support them. The discussion also touches on the importance of considering the future independence of these adult children and the legal requirements for their inclusion in the Golden Visa process.
