Question

Has anyone successfully applied for an received their TIE (family member of EU Citizen) recently and can provide an indication of how long it took to receive a favourable resolution. Almost 4 months waiting here…

Answers

These are the answers of some Facebook group members:

“This will vary by province so to get relevant advice, you’ll need to include where you live.”

“The tie is straightforward. But the residency decision the card is issued on is the problem.
Now did you apply for residency, or apply for the foreigners identity card (Tie)”

“I got the favorable in almost 4 months”

“Text this number: +34 600 124 377 your personal NIE # like so:

NIE A1234567B (example)

-I texted it and within a few minutes it will say- favorable, en trámite, or denegado. I didn’t receive my favorable letter for almost 3 weeks after I had texted. So at least if it’s favorable, you can start trying to get the cita to take fingerprints. In total I had my result in 3 months. Good luck”

“My husband is the Family Member of the EU Citizen (me). Our attorney in Madrid told us to expect 4-5 months for processing when we submitted his application materials in early July. We’re still waiting at about the 2-1/2 month mark.”

“I’m in Madrid and it took around 4 months or so”

In conclusion, the process of applying for and receiving a TIE (family member of an EU citizen) can vary depending on factors such as location and personal circumstances. From the answers provided by members Spainguru’s Facebook group, it appears that the process can take anywhere from 4-5 months on average. However, it is worth noting that some individuals have reported shorter wait times of around 3 months, while others have had to wait longer. It’s important to keep in mind that the process can be different for everyone and that the best way to know about the status of your TIE application is to text the number +34 600 124 377 with your personal NIE#. It’s also important to consult with an attorney or immigration specialist to ensure that you have all the necessary documentation and information to increase your chances of a successful application.
